In 2009 a group of people from Frilsham and Yattendon got together and launched The Frilsham and Yattendon Lunch Club. We originally advertised it for “over 60s” and most of our diners and helpers do fall into that age bracket, but we like to be flexible! We have regulars in their 50s plus a number of over 90s!
The Lunch Club meets on the first Friday of every month at the clubroom.
We aim for a fairly traditional menu to appeal to as many people as possible and all the food is cooked by volunteers – brilliant!
For just £3:00 you can enjoy a two course meal followed by coffee while having a good chat (or just listening if you prefer!).
We like to celebrate special occasions - the pictures below are from the Queen's Jubilee in 2012 and her 90th birthday in 2016.
And in December we really go to town and enjoy a multi-course traditional Christmas meal and drinks, with the hall seasonally decorated - looking all Christmassy and festive.
We would welcome some new customers to enjoy good company and good food. We would also welcome some new cooks who can also enjoy good company as well as share their culinary skills.
Want to know more? Just call Shirley (203266) or just come along to the village hall on the 1st Friday of the month and see for yourself!
